Over the last few years, many people have been trying to think of ways to improve the annual NBA All-Star Game.
While still enjoyable, the game has felt uneventful and generic to some.
Speaking with Tyrese Haliburton on the latest episode of Podcast P, Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers offered an interesting idea on how to improve the All-Star Game.
He said that during the fourth quarter, the defense should score points.
When a team gets a stop, they should be awarded points, George thinks.

This is certainly a very intriguing idea but it isn’t likely to gain a lot of support.
Even the co-hosts of George’s show and Haliburton didn’t seem too excited by the concept of a team’s defense scoring points in the All-Star Game.
However, George’s idea would definitely change things up in the annual event that has grown stale for many fans.
The NBA has been tinkering with the All-Star Game recently in attempts to drum up more excitement.
However, none of those attempts have really done much in the grand scheme of things and most responses to recent All-Star Games have been lukewarm at best.
This season, the league returned to a traditional format for the All-Star Game and while the response was better than last season, it still wasn’t as high as years past.
Maybe George’s plan wouldn’t achieve its goal but it is clear that the league needs to keep trying new things when it comes to the All-Star Game.
For the last two seasons, both George and Haliburton have been selected for the All-Star Game, meaning they got to participate in the event and think of ways to make it better.
