The San Antonio Spurs couldn’t get the win against the Phoenix Suns.
They’ve fared well against them this season, but struggled now that they’re at full strength and getting into a rhythm ahead of the playoffs.
Still, it seems like Gregg Popovich wasn’t all that worried about them ahead of their matchup.
Following the loss, the veteran coach stated that he didn’t watch a lot of film on their Big 3.
Popovich said that he already knows all those guys and what they bring to the table, so he was more focused on his team and what they could do (via Duane Rankin).
“On the one hand, I haven’t watched them all, because I don’t care. Last time I checked, we won two or three games. So I spend my time looking at my film and seeing what we can do. Not being a wise guy, it’s just true. I already know those guys,” Popovich said.

Needless to say, that’s not a usual answer by any coach, especially the part about not watching a lot of film on an opponent.
Then again, we have to consider the fact that Coach Popovich has never been very open with the media, and he’s not going to give them a straightforward or honest answer.
On top of that, the Spurs aren’t going to make the playoffs this season, so the team is focusing on other aspects of player development at this point in the campaign, which is also valid.
